Hi Airbyte team and community šŸ‘‹ I'm exploring Airbyte Agent SDK and I'm very interested in the AI capability around automatically building connectors. I have a few questions: 1. Is the AI-powered connector generation workflow open-source? 2. Where can I find the related repositories or implementation code? (Agent workflow, skills, tools, connector generation logic, etc.) 3. Are there any ongoing projects or discussions where community members can contribute? I'm interested in researching and contributing improvements, especially around: - using AI agents to understand API documentation - automatically generating connector configurations/schema - improving connector development efficiency I'd love to participate in the co-development and share ideas if there is a suitable place. Thanks!

Hi! Great questions — here's what the knowledge sources tell us about each of your points: 1. Is the AI-powered connector generation workflow open-source? It depends on which part you mean: • Agent connectors (the
airbyte-agent-sdk
Python package) are open source. You can find them in the airbyte-agent-sdk repository. [Agent connectors] • The connector definition/generation pipeline (the
sonar
repository where connector definitions live and the
BlessedConnectorGenerator
class that generates packages) is in a private repository (
airbytehq/sonar
). [Agent connector docs] • The AI Assistant for the Connector Builder (which helps prefill and configure connectors in the UI) is a beta feature available on Airbyte Cloud. [AI Assist] 2. Where can I find the related repositories and implementation code? Here are the relevant public repositories: The connector generation logic itself (Jinja2 templates,
BlessedConnectorGenerator
, etc.) lives in the private
sonar
repo and is not publicly accessible. [Agent connector docs] 3. Are there ongoing projects where community members can contribute? Here's the current state of contributions: • āœ… Accepted: Fixes/enhancements to existing API connectors, new streams for existing connectors using Connector Builder/YAML, new API connectors built with Connector Builder, and migrations from Python to YAML. [Code contributions] • āŒ Not accepted: Contributions to Airbyte Agents — for bugs or feature requests, free users should use the #C0B1CUSEQKT Slack channel, and paid customers should use the Support Center. [Code contributions] For your specific interests (AI agents understanding API docs, auto-generating connector configs), the most relevant open contribution area would be new connectors or enhancements via the Connector Builder/YAML path, since the AI-powered generation pipeline itself is not open for community contributions at this time. Getting involved • Join the Airbyte Community Slack and ask in #C027KKE4BCZ or
#airbyte-agents
. [Contributing] • There's also a community-built tool for generating low-code connectors from documentation using LLMs that you might find interesting: airbyte-connector-generator-poc.
