07/02/2026, 4:44 AMclass_name in custom components is:
source_<name>.<package>.<class_name>
For example, if your connector is named my_connector and you have a file components.py containing a class MyPaginationStrategy, the reference would be:
pagination_strategy:
type: "CustomPaginationStrategy"
class_name: "source_my_connector.components.MyPaginationStrategy"
my_field: "hello world"
A few key points:
• The prefix is always source_ followed by your connector's name (with underscores).
• The middle segment is the package/module where the class is defined (e.g., components).
• The final segment is the class name itself.
• The class must implement the interface of the component it replaces and be defined as a dataclass.
Also note that in the Connector Builder UI, you must switch to the YAML editor view to reference custom components — they cannot be configured through the visual interface.
