@kapa.ai I am using an incremental refresh on the Shopify connector. If I delete an Item in Shopify, is it expected that the item is also deleted from my destination?

No, it is not expected that a deleted item in Shopify will be automatically deleted from your destination when using incremental sync mode. With Incremental | Append sync, records in the destination are never deleted or mutated. Incremental sync works by querying the source for records that have been inserted or modified since the last sync — deleted records are simply not returned by such a query, so they are never propagated to the destination. [Incremental Sync - Append] However, the Shopify connector does have special handling for deletions on certain streams. For the

streams, the connector captures deletions by outputting a record with the

of the deleted item along with

fields (other fields will be empty). For deleted products specifically, there is a dedicated
Deleted Products
stream that queries the Shopify GraphQL Events API. [Shopify - Capturing Deleted Records] So in summary: • The deleted record will not be removed from your destination table. • For supported streams, a new record flagged as deleted will be appended to the destination, which you can use to identify and handle deletions in your downstream logic. If you need the destination to fully mirror the source (including hard deletes), your options are: • Use Full Refresh | Overwrite sync mode. • Use CDC replication if supported by your source.
