03/23/2026, 4:08 PMchange_event table via custom GAQL queries have reported that old_resource and new_resource fields are always null, even though the data is present when querying the API directly (e.g., via the API Explorer or Python SDK). [Google Ads regression]
Root Cause:
The issue appears to be a type mismatch — old_resource and new_resource are object types, but the schema definition treats them as String. Airbyte silently ignores the field when there's a type mismatch, resulting in null values. [Google Ads regression]
What's been reported:
• The regression was introduced around connector version 4.1.0-rc.6 / pull request #68030.
• All other fields in the change_event query populate correctly — only the nested object fields (old_resource, new_resource) are affected.
• The issue was reportedly addressed in source-google-ads v4.1.5-rc.2, but some users have noted it may not be fully resolved for all cases (e.g., CAMPAIGN_BUDGET resource type with amountMicros changed fields). [Google Ads regression]
Recommendation:
Check which version of the source-google-ads connector you are using. If you are on a version prior to 4.1.5-rc.2, upgrading may help. If you are already on that version or later and still seeing the issue, consider reopening or commenting on the GitHub issue with your specific case. 👍 0 button 👎 0 button ℹ️ Tip: Mention @kapa.ai in the thread for follow-ups or DM the app for 1-to-1 help.Greg Corey
