Hi everyone, I'm currently working with Airbyte OSS (Docker, local setup) and building a Python-based automation for schema monitoring and conditional sync. I'm using the endpoint:
POST /api/v1/web_backend/connections/get
with
"withRefreshedCatalog": true
Earlier, this was working correctly and I was able to retrieve fields like
schemaChange
and
catalogDiff
. However, I'm now consistently receiving a 401 Unauthorized response for the same request. I am currently passing a Bearer token from my
.env
file in the request headers. Username/password-based authentication (
/applications/token
) does not seem to work in my setup, and requests without a token also fail. I would really appreciate guidance on the following: 1. What is the correct and recommended authentication approach for accessing
/web_backend
APIs in Airbyte OSS? 2. Is there a supported way to automatically generate or refresh tokens for long-running automated workflows? 3. Has anyone experienced a scenario where this endpoint worked initially but later started returning 401 errors? 4. Is there an alternative approach that avoids the need to manually refresh tokens, especially for integration with tools like Airflow? My goal is to build a reliable, fully automated pipeline without manual intervention for authentication. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
