Hi @kapa.ai where does airbyte store the current version of the destination or source ? I can see the default_version_id but i dont see a current_version_id anywhere
k
The knowledge sources don’t explicitly document a
current_version_id
field or a single “current version” column for each actor (source/destination). They only mention: •
default_version_id
on the
actor
table (implied from the forum thread about it becoming non‑null and being enforced). [Error null default_version_id] • Rollout metadata in the
connector_rollout
table, which tracks rollout state and references versions via: ◦
release_candidate_version_id
◦
initial_version_id
[connector_rollout] From these docs, what is clearly defined is: • Workspace‑level “Default Version”: in the UI you can set a connector’s default version under *Workspace settings → Sources/Destinations → Edit connector → Default Version*; this is used to pin a specific connector version, but it’s not exposed as a
current_version_id
column. [Pinning versions] What’s not documented in these sources: • Where exactly the “current in‑use version” for a specific actor/connection is stored (e.g., a specific
current_version_id
column). • The full schema of the
actor
or
actor_definition_version
tables. So, based on the provided material, I can only say with confidence: • There is a
default_version_id
concept and rollout/version metadata (
connector_rollout
), and you can pin a Default Version per connector in the UI. • The knowledge sources do not describe any
current_version_id
field or the exact DB location where the currently running version for a given source/destination instance is stored. 👍 0 button 👎 0 button ℹ️ Tip: Mention @kapa.ai in the thread for follow-ups or DM the app for 1-to-1 help.

@kapa.ai where do i find the current connector's version in the database ? like docker image and docker repository
k
You can get the connector’s current Docker image (repository + tag) from the
actor_definition_version
table in the config database. The schema shows: •
docker_repository
– Docker repository name •
docker_image_tag
– Docker image tag for this version [actor_definition_version]
-- Example: list all versions for a given connector definition
SELECT
  adv.id,
  adv.actor_definition_id,
  adv.docker_repository,
  adv.docker_image_tag,
  adv.created_at
FROM actor_definition_version adv
WHERE adv.actor_definition_id = '<your-actor-definition-id>'
ORDER BY adv.created_at DESC;
To know which version is the default for a connector definition, use the
default_version_id
on the
actor_definition
table, which points to
actor_definition_version(id)
. [actor_definition; actor_definition_version]
-- Example: get the default (current default) version for a connector definition
SELECT
  ad.id AS actor_definition_id,
  ad.name,
  adv.docker_repository,
  adv.docker_image_tag
FROM actor_definition ad
JOIN actor_definition_version adv
  ON ad.default_version_id = adv.id
WHERE ad.id = '<your-actor-definition-id>';
The docs do not show a per-connection or per-actor “current_version_id”; they only document
default_version_id
at the definition level and the Docker fields on
actor_definition_version
. 👍 0 button 👎 0 button ℹ️ Tip: Mention @kapa.ai in the thread for follow-ups or DM the app for 1-to-1 help.
