are there any good books on airbyte out there? or any introductory material that isn't the documentation

curious what you think is missing from the docs šŸ™‚?

well its just that I'm also new to the whole data engineering thing too. I come from a full stack web dev background so its not TOO foreign to me so i was hoping for material that'd cover the problems that Airbyte is trying to solve, for context
as far as the docs go I don't think anything is "misisng" so much as its not "organized" in a way that suits someone working with airbyte for the first time.
it didn't really click for me until I found the "any% speedrun" video that showed the dev cycle in action

and even after I've gotten a connector working I still have questions, for example • exactly why is it important that we have the OpenAPI spec for a given API • i'm still not clear on the role that catalog / configuredcatalog play with respect to basic normalization (if there even is one)
no worries šŸ‘

@Enrico Tuvera Jr. Thanks again for the awesome feedback. I have one question. • What about the dev cycle shown in the any% speedrun video was useful to you?

well, its just that I'm more of a visual learner and it really helped to watch someone else put a connector together from start to finish. the rest of the learning came from reading the stripe source connector's code,
pdb
, and a generous amount of experimentation
