Also I think these instructions need to be fully specified. In its current form people have to think about how to create an instance, how to allow internet access safely, how to open ports, and how to enable ssh access.

I think vague steps will decrease the chance of completing the steps significantly.

I think we could do something very detailed like https://fivetran.com/docs/destinations/bigquery#setupinstructions. A lower effort solution might be to have something like what is on that page currently and add a screencast of walking through all the steps.
