I am getting the following error when applying an upgrade of airbyte using helm on eks:
Cannot upgrade from version 0.35.12-alpha to version 0.50.31 directly. First you must upgrade to version 0.37.0-alpha. After that upgrade is complete, you may upgrade to version 0.50.31.
How can i upgrade airbyte from 0.35.12-alpha to 0.37.0-alpha.?

To upgrade Airbyte from version 0.35.12-alpha to 0.37.0-alpha on Kubernetes, you need to follow the steps below: 1. Export your Airbyte configuration data and sync history. Navigate to the Admin page in the UI, go to the Configuration Tab, and click Export. This will download a compressed back-up archive (gzipped tarball) of all of your Airbyte configuration data and sync history locally. Please note that any secrets that you have entered into Airbyte will be in this archive, so you should treat it as a secret. [source](https://docs.airbyte.com/operator-guides/upgrading-airbyte/) 2. Migrate the local archive to the new version using the Migration App (packaged in a docker container). Here's an example of what it might look like with the values filled in. It assumes that the downloaded
airbyte_archive.tar.gz
is in
/tmp
.
bash docker run --rm -v /tmp:/config airbyte/migration:0.37.0-alpha --\ --input /config/airbyte_archive.tar.gz\ --output /config/airbyte_archive_migrated.tar.gz
[source](https://docs.airbyte.com/operator-guides/upgrading-airbyte/) 3. Turn off Airbyte fully and delete the existing Airbyte Kubernetes volumes. Please make sure you have already exported your data (step 1). This command is going to delete your data in Kubernetes, you may lose your airbyte configurations!
bash # Careful, this is deleting data! kubectl delete -k kube/overlays/stable
[source](https://docs.airbyte.com/operator-guides/upgrading-airbyte/) 4. After you have migrated your data and deleted the existing volumes, you can upgrade the kube deployment to the new version. If you are running Airbyte from a cloned version of the Airbyte GitHub repo and want to use the current most recent stable version, just
git pull
. 5. Bring Airbyte back online.
bash kubectl apply -k kube/overlays/stable
[source](https://docs.airbyte.com/operator-guides/upgrading-airbyte/) After 2-5 minutes,
kubectl get pods | grep airbyte
should show
Running
as the status for all the core Airbyte pods. This may take longer on Kubernetes clusters with slow internet connections. Run
kubectl port-forward svc/airbyte-webapp-svc 8000:80
to allow access to the UI/API. Please note that these steps are for upgrading Airbyte on Kubernetes. If you are using Helm for deployment, you might need to adjust some commands accordingly.

@kapa.ai when i am trying to do kubectl apply -k kube/overlays/stable I am getting following error:
error: must build at directory: not a valid directory: evalsymlink failure on 'kube/overlays/stable' : lstat /Users/shubhamsingh/Downloads/airbyte/airbyte-code/airbyte/kube: no such file or directory
Can you tell me the exact path for kube/overlays in the airbyte github repo.?
k
The error message you're seeing suggests that the directory 'kube/overlays/stable' does not exist in your current path. This could be because you're not in the correct directory where your Airbyte codebase resides. The 'kube/overlays/stable' path is relative to the root directory of the Airbyte project. If you've cloned the Airbyte repository to your local machine, you should navigate to the root directory of the project before running the
kubectl apply -k kube/overlays/stable
command. If you haven't cloned the repository yet, you can do so by running
git clone <https://github.com/airbytehq/airbyte.git>
. After cloning, navigate to the root directory of the project and then you should be able to apply the command. If you're still having trouble, please ensure that you have the correct permissions to access the directory and that the directory actually exists in your cloned version of the repository.

@kapa.ai I am already running this from root directory, do you have the exact path of this folder as the folder seems to be missing.?
