I would like to run custom transformations on one of the streams. I followed the documentation provided by Airbyte and there was no problem to get it running, however I wanted to try sth similar using my custom
dbt_project
that I've been using in my project. I edited it so that it installs dependencies in
../dbt
which is a workaround in order to get access to the packages installed with dbt deps, but this did not solve my problem as I'm getting an error
dbt found 1 package(s) specified in packages.yml, but only 0 package(s) installed in ../dbt. Run "dbt deps" to install package dependencies.

Based on the information provided in the extracts, it seems like you're trying to chain
dbt deps
and
dbt run
commands. However, you're encountering an issue where the packages installed by
dbt deps
are not being recognized in the subsequent transformations. One possible solution to this issue is to use the
dbt build
command instead of chaining
dbt deps
and
dbt run
. According to the [dbt documentation](https://docs.getdbt.com/reference/commands/build), the
dbt build
command is not equivalent to the two previous commands, but it will remove the need to alter the configuration of dbt. Here's how you can use it:
bash dbt build --vars '{"table_name":"sample","schema_name":"other_value"}'
Please note that the string passed to the
--vars
option must have no space. There is a [Github issue](https://github.com/airbytehq/airbyte/issues/4348) to improve this. If you're still encountering issues, it might be helpful to revisit the steps outlined in the [Airbyte documentation](https://docs.airbyte.com/operator-guides/transformation-and-normalization/transformations-with-airbyte) and ensure that you've followed them correctly.

@Jakub Jablonski did you ever find a resolution to this? I'm running into the same problem
