Hi all,
I'm using Airbyte cloud and I love the new connection builder. However, I have some APIs that require to chain some calls to get the data. For example, the first call would be to get a list of IDs and the second one would be to call the API with each ID as a parameter and request more details.
I assume we cannot use the connection builder for that, right? Is there any workaround that you could think of?
Thank you

Hello, You're correct that the connection builder in Airbyte currently supports Basic HTTP, Bearer Token, API Key, and OAuth for authentication methods. However, it does not currently support chaining API calls or authenticating a login endpoint that returns a session token. This feature is planned and can be tracked in the Github issue #26341, but it might not be shipped yet [source](https://airbyte.com/tutorials/chat-with-your-data-using-openai-pinecone-airbyte-and-langchain). As a workaround, you might consider creating a custom connector using the Airbyte Python CDK (Connector Development Kit). This allows you to handle more complex scenarios like nested API calls. You can find more information about this in the [Airbyte documentation](https://docs.airbyte.com/connector-development/cdk-python/http-streams/). However, please note that as of now, Airbyte Cloud does not currently support custom connectors. This feature is on the roadmap for Q1 2023 [source](https://airbytehq.slack.com/archives/C021JANJ6TY/p1670972729262349). I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
