I have copy of Airbyte setup on a private server, I want to work with API as I need to interact with Airbyte instance from Apache Airflow. How can get the correct API endpoint. By default, I access my instance at http://localhost:8000, then at prompt, I enter username and password

To interact with your Airbyte instance from Apache Airflow, you will need to create an Airbyte connection in Apache Airflow. Here are the steps to do so: 1. Once Airflow starts, navigate to Airflow's
Connections
page. The Airflow UI can be accessed at
<http://localhost:8080/>
. 2. Airflow will use the Airbyte API to execute actions. The Airbyte API uses HTTP, so you'll need to create an HTTP Connection. Airbyte is typically hosted at
localhost:8001
. Configure Airflow's HTTP connection accordingly. 3. Don't forget to click save! You can find more details about this process in the [Airbyte Operator Guide](https://docs.airbyte.com/operator-guides/using-the-airflow-airbyte-operator). To retrieve the Airbyte Connection ID for your Airflow DAG to know which Airbyte Connection to trigger, you can find this ID in the URL on the connection page in the Airbyte UI. The Airbyte UI can be accessed at
localhost:8000
. For security reasons, it's recommended not to expose Airbyte on Internet available ports. You can create an SSH tunnel for port 8000. If you want to use different ports, modify
API_URL
in your .env file and restart Airbyte. Here's an example of how to create an SSH tunnel:
Copy code
bash # In your workstation terminal   SSH_KEY=~/Downloads/dataline-key-airbyte.pem   ssh -i $SSH_KEY -L 8000:localhost:8000 -N -f ec2-user@$INSTANCE_IP
You can find more details about this process in the [Airbyte Deployment Guide](https://docs.airbyte.com/deploying-airbyte/on-aws-ec2). Please note that Airbyte currently uses basic authentication, and it's your responsibility to control who has access to the hardware and network your Airbyte deployment runs on. You can find more details about this in the [Airbyte Security Guide](https://docs.airbyte.com/operator-guides/security).

This instructions does mention how to add API token. It also mention port 8001 and 8000 but does differentiate from which ports is API endpoint available. @kapa.ai

Zendesk APIs is irrelevant to my request

Is your airbyte instance running on your local machine? It will not be accessible by Apache Airflow unless it’s exposed to the internet

Issue resolved. Thank
