Webapp's Keycloak dependency
Hi there 👋 ! Is there any way to disable Keycloak while deploying (without using helm) airbyte on Kubernetes ? I get the following error on
airbyte-webapp
deployment since the version
0.50.9
:
Copy code
host not found in upstream "$keycloak_internal_host" in /etc/nginx/conf.d/default.conf:10
Because I did not configured an deploy any Keycloak service. Any
KEYCLOAK_ENABLED
env var which I could set to
false
?

Hey @Indy Berthomé could you try setting
KEYCLOAK_INTERNAL_HOST=localhost
as an env variable? I’m checking with our k8s experts to see if this is a mistake on our side, but I believe that should get your
airbyte-webapp
image to stop complaining. It will not have any effects, and that’s what we set it to as a fallback in helm.

@Indy Berthomé can you share a bit more information about how you deploy? Helm is currently the only method we officially support for Kubernetes, so I am curious what your use case looks like without it. As Joey pointed out, setting
KEYCLOAK_INTERNAL_HOST=localhost
should resolve your problem, as this is the value that the
airbyte-env
ConfigMap sets for
KEYCLOAK_INTERNAL_HOST
by default

Hi Joey, Parker ! Thanks for the quick answers, appreciate. Indeed, passing the env var
KEYCLOAK_INTERNAL_HOST=localhost
solves the problem. We still deploy Airbyte on GKE using kustomize/kubectl, and we didn't migrate on Helm yet. We tried few months ago, but the chart was incomplete or requiring many customizations. So we decide to wait a bit for maturity before migrate to Helm deployment.
