Hello! How would you increase normalisation job threads from the standard normalise functionality?
k
I'm sorry, but based on the information provided, it's not currently possible to increase the number of threads for the normalization job from the standard normalization functionality in Airbyte. As per a [previous support conversation](https://airbytehq.slack.com/archives/C021JANJ6TY/p1663601987583069), you can overwrite the number of DBT threads using the vars argument, but you can't pass vars without specifying your own DBT project. Also, the [Basic Normalization](https://docs.airbyte.com/understanding-airbyte/basic-normalization) is packaged in a docker image
airbyte/normalization
and is tied to and released along with a specific Airbyte version. It is not configurable independently like it is possible to do with connectors (source & destinations). If you want to increase the overall job parallelism, you can increase the number of worker pods or adjust the maximum number of each type of worker allowed to run in parallel using the environment variables
MAX_SPEC_WORKERS
,
MAX_CHECK_WORKERS
,
MAX_DISCOVERY_WORKERS
, and
MAX_SYNC_WORKERS
as described in the [Airbyte documentation](https://docs.airbyte.com/understanding-airbyte/jobs). However, this applies to all types of jobs, not just normalization.
