Hey everyone 👋 ! We've been iterating lately on how we could improve the connection settings. Our goals were to: • make the first-time user experience easier with a simpler onboarding • enable batch editing of streams in a much easier and self-explanatory way • restructure the connection detail pages to make more sense You can see the *designs *here.  Don't hesitate to add your comments. If you want to play with a mockup prototype, here's one. Looking forward to getting your feedback!

I believe that first-time users should have all the settings set to default (90% of customers just want their data updated Incremental + Overwrite). So for API connectors source it should be only the table and column selection and replication freq.

Indeed. That’s what we want to do. And the advanced settings would be hidden by default in the onboarding. You can expand them though

Hi @John (Airbyte), I think having the ability to define stream’s settings using a comma-sep list or a JSON file would help a lot.
j
can you be more specific?
and don't hesitate to leave a comment directly on Figma, it might be more contextual 🙂

I love that with Google Datastream, you can paste in a list of tables (1.c in this link)

I think you also should think of redesigning 'Connections' and add a section with 'existing sources' and 'existing destinations' when setting up new connections. It's not very intuitive, that using existing sources or destinations is only possible in 'Sources' and 'Destinations'. It's even worse when you would like to create a new source in that interface but use an existing destination or the other way around.

@Martin Bach We actually already have a change for that which will make the next release!
