I have two questions about creating new workspaces through the API. 1. user access - can we add a user to the workspace through the api. Currently unless running the api through my own account, I wouldn't be able to access the new workspace that is created, or other team members would not be able to have access. 2. billing - This is important, currently it seems like each workspace requires independent crediting on our account. Is it possible to have billing to span across workspaces - it's not practical to upload and manage credits across potentially hundreds of user accounts, and really breaks the concept of each user having an independent workspace.

Hello Will, Great questions. Currently the answer to both is that we do not support that yet. We have plans to address both of those features before the end of the year though.

Thanks Bryce. How do you recommend working with billing here - Is there any recommendation or work around for the current credit system (can we transfer credits between workspaces for example). Also how is this expected to work in the future according to your current plan. Without this being under one account it seems pretty difficult to make work in the suggested fashion of a new workspace per user. The current flow we have would mean we can create a workspace for a new user. Create a connection (which can't be made active as it has no credits). Require someone to manually log in and add credits to an account. Switch on the connector - only then seeing if the sync works. Manually check credit levels across each individual workspace, add a lot of spare credits. Try to reclaim credits for users with less usage. Manage a hundred independent invoices across accounts for costings.

If you have a rough idea of how much data you move during a month and how many Workspaces and an average of connectors per Workspace, that will be helpful information for us.

We are currently introducing an Organization concept that will help in many areas. This being one of them. We plan for all of your company's Workspaces to live within a single Organization. Users to be added to an Organization, giving them access to all Workspaces owned by your company. Billing will also be at an Organization-level in the future. @Will We had a call many months ago for the Airbyte API, lets schedule another sync. We will also get your team early-access to a Powered by Airbyte plan, where you will not have to add credits to individual workspaces anymore.
