We are currently under a multi-tenant architecture with a database server per tenant, we have a lot of tenants with large amounts of data ( from 1.2 to 10T). We want to do a full load from all tenants to our data lake, all our sources are MySQL and I tested with Postgresql destination but as I mention here before -> https://airbytehq.slack.com/archives/C021JANJ6TY/p1665381596030749 , we have some performance issues and the sync process just hangs and we are not even testing with the largest tables. 1. Which destination do you recommend in this case, to use S3 ( I've tested this, and the process finishes but is still slow, 15hrs to move 67GB) or any other destination that can speed up the process? 2. Is airbyte meant to deal with this multi-tenancy approach with a lot of data or just for a small amount of data? 3. Do I need to configure airbyte in some way to increase performance, is there a basic configuration for this scenario?

A quick reminder that we have Office Hours every Wednesday from 11AM to Noon Pacific time. This week, October 19th, we’ll have two special guests: Alex Girard and Brian Lai from the Connectors team are going to help us answer some questions. If you have questions you’d like to ask Brian or Alex (or any of us on the Community Assistance Team), you can join and ask them live! If you don’t want to forget before Wednesday rolls around, feel free to drop a note here in this channel and we’ll do our best to answer as many as we can in the time available.

Question from our AMA from @Brian Lai for the community: what’s your motivation for using the low-code CDK? What do you feel is the best reason for using this implementation (as opposed to the python CDK / custom connectors)? Drop your answers here and we’ll talk about it next week!

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday! A couple quick things to share with y’all: 1. Our next Community Office Hours is this Wednesday, 16 November — and we’re trying something new. We’re going to host as usual at https://app.livestorm.co/airbyte/airbyte-community-office-hours, but at the same time, we’ll also be hosting a Slack Huddle right here on this channel! We’ll try and answer some questions, look at some issues, and generally see if we can make the combination of these two tools works (or doesn’t). 2. Our Office Hours through the end of the year have been determined: in addition to this Wednesday, 16 November, we’ll also be holding Office Hours on 23 November, 7 December, 14 December, and 21 December. Please note: November 30th there will not be an Office Hours to allow our team to do some pruning and triaging for our Backlog Burndown Day. Also please not there will not be an Office Hours on December 28th, because it’s the week between the US holidays of Christmas and New Year’s, and honestly who wants to be working then anyway. 3. The 21 December Office Hours, as our last one of 2022, will start with a retrospective of CAT, the Community, and where we’ve come from and are going in 2023. 4. Last but not least: please be aware that the Airbyte Engineering Team is instituting a Code Freeze for all Airbyte Repos beginning after hours on 18 November and going until the freeze is lifted as of the morning of 28 November. The effect of this freeze is that no PRs will be merged during that time (although PR review and acceptance will continue). When the dates are determined for the Christmas / New Year’s Holidays Freezes, I’ll also share that here. If you have questions, please feel free to ask them here or ping me directly, and I’ll do my best to answer them! Have a fantastic day, and I’ll see y’all on Wednesday.
