Thanks for everyone coming in and trying Linen! Since the launch yesterday we've added some small tweaks: We've added logout and a profile button instead of having
    join the conversation
Let me know if there are any other feedback

Thanks for the feedback everyone! We've added few tiny features, including setting your display name in the profile or signing out (accessible through the avatar in the top right corner). If you see anything missing or have new ideas just let us know.

Hi, excellent idea! Question: does it work with mattermost? I'm not an expert but I think mattermost connectivity is very similar to slack.

    New features since last week:
    1. Improvements and bug fixes for multiple community state with single account
    2. Shift click on checkbox on feed view will let you select multiple messages
    3. You can set display names now
    4. It no longer says
    join the conversation
    if you are signed in
    1. For admins you can drag and drop and merge threads (You can't unmerge them yet but that is coming soon)

Having one color for avatars made it hard to understand if conversations have many participants, so we've introduced custom avatar colors here https://github.com/Linen-dev/linen.dev/pull/589

I want to use Linen for my open source project but I want to have it as part of the project docs - so I need a custom url. Whats the best way to do that?

this is odd, I see plenty of examples of folks using code blocks, emojis, even embedding videos... How do I do that though here? Also if I copy an image and paste it here it also doesn't seem to work... Any advice?

We'd like to update everyone on what we've been working on the past few weeks. We're working improving sign in and auth flow to support things like Github and SSO sign up. We've been investigating the desktop client but are running in to issues with serverside rendering. We're putting Desktop client on hold for the time being and will pursue it once we refactor more of the code base to more of a single page app.

Hey there! 👋 I am testing using Linen for the Logseq Discord community server. https://logseq.com/ https://github.com/logseq/logseq/ https://www.linen.dev/d/Logseq I am wondering if the free plan allows for message to be indaxable by search engines.

I think I am experiencing a strange bug. steps to reproduce:
    • navigate to:
    https://www.linen.dev/d/Logseq
    • search for:
i used to hate taking notes. i would write something down and I would never see it again
    • click on the returned result.
    • Linen returns a 404 error
Question: is this due to that message not being indexed yet?

Is there anything that needs to be done to get Google and Bing to index a community on Linen? We have been syncing our Discord and Linen for quite while now, and Google doesn't seem to see it. About 10 days ago we added it to some indexed pages (LinkedIn, the main README.md, etc.) and Google clearly has indexed these pages (almost immediately), but still can't find the Linen community itself. The page in question is https://linen.dev/d/toit (linked from https://github.com/toitlang/toit)

I think Linen URLs should be case-insensitive to decrease confusion. For example right now, https://www.linen.dev/s/linen, https://www.linen.dev/s/Linen, https://www.linen.dev/s/LINEN, etc. all are allowed and can refer to different communities!

Hello, could you please shed some light about the "link redirection" thing? I may try to make a simple integration plugin in the future if it makes sense. Still getting my feet wet with Linen as of now.

I'm not 100%, but I think that @Kam simply meant that if you use your own hosting (in the premium edition of linen), then you have control over the url and you can simply link to it within your domain.

Hey Jeff moving this out to a separate thread. If you are referring to Link redirection in the code base it is based on how we handle pathing. Historically we handled pathing based on subdomains. We changed it to subpath handling similar to reddit. The reason for this was for SEO purposes. We also have a path redirection that is responsible for routing paths from different customers' subdomains to the correct pathing so we can reuse the pages.
Happy to hop on a call too. We're getting more things together to help contributors this week including documentation so let us know what is confusing and we can include it in the architecture section etc
