Played this last night. We had a rough go in the story section. Entering with 9 civilians and 22 rations we thought were off to a good start, we remembered from the previous chapter that Verum was South East of Bastone so off we went. We made it to the Waystone fairly prompted and after figuring that out, we were confident we were on the right track so we continued onward. It all started to fall apart when we came to the Bloodthorn, we voted and the decision was made to avoid the Bloodthorn and then a few moves later we hit the impenetrable border to the South. At this point, it was either branch West and hope for a path to appear or go all the way North East and look for a way there. We decided on West but after a few moves it didn't seem like the path was opening up so we really messed up and back tracked to the NE. After that also didn't appear to be going anywhere we thought we might have needed to go into the Bloodthorn after all. After trudging back to that space we discovered that it just counted as an empty space! So after all that progress lost and all our civilian party dead of starvation we decided to track West again. We made it to the bridge and did the event there before we ran out of time and were forced into the encounter. The encounter was pretty fun, we did have our first two knockouts (I was knocked out just before the final turn which was annoying) but managed to get the win and save half of the civilians. I do feel like we are still messing up some of the boss targeting rules but if a card is triggered as part of breaking a dice you do ignore all the targeting text on the card and just try to make the enemies target the person who broke the dice, right? And if it's not possible for them to reach and attack the person who broke the dice you revert back to the original targeting rules on the card and special rules board? Sometimes I feel like it would just be more straight forward just to enact the card as written instead.
