Oh man, service workers can be evil haha. Just blew away the Chrome cache and re-logged in and I'm still seeing the original error. Also tried creating a fresh session in Firefox which I've never used with supabase.io before and still seeing the original error.

Can you give me the steps to take to see the error you are getting please?

Just log into the dashboard and change the auth settings. In our case we have Discord enabled as an auth provider, which works fine, but then if I toggle "Enable Email Signup" and "Enable email confirmations" to their off positions, and then click the "Save" button that appears after doing so, the setting is not saved, and an error appears in the console (see that original screenshot)

The error seems to be saying that is required, I'm going to try and fill that in and then see if it saves.

Pretty sure you would only want custom SMTP setup if you were actually planning to have email auth enabled, which we're not.

I'm going to guess it's necessary for other things, because you could still register an account and a forgot password email would require a email server

Well in our case, that would be your Discord credentials, which have no ability to email you about, so no that shouldn't be necessary because it's not possible
