@User message pack definitely looks leaner in terms of serving as a transport packet. i think we're okay though because the json is mostly for caching and storage on startup/shutdown. for plugin integration, we are planning on migrating the dendron engine from a library to a language server protocol. at that point, it will probably make sense to use message pack and open the doors to all sorts of editor integrations
