Sans the absence of a mobile app to create notes with corresponding frontmatter, dendron is a highly recommendable choice for note taking. 2 errors I came across. In documentation, the shortcuts for creating scratch and journal seems to the switched in here https://www.dendron.so/notes/a7c3a810-28c8-4b47-96a6-8156b1524af3#note-toggle Also if all files in the vault is closed and you press ctrl+shift+j, the journal lookup seems not pre filled
