Thanks. Did a quick search for de-centralised forums and found a few interesting solutions. Most of them seem to rely on blockchain. I am trying to keep it as simple as possible. The use case would apply to a group of people with similar interests (including organisations). It seeks to achieve the same benefits than P2 (https://wordpress.com/p2/), without being locked into a 3rd party platform. Matt Mullenweg (the CEO of Automattic, i.e. wordpress) credits P2 for a large part of their success. (i.e. 38% of the world's most popular websites run on wordpress.) Another issue I have with forums (and P2) is that they keep conversations in a one dimensional timeline. Being able to explore a conversation as graph would be more fruitful. A lot of conversations end up sharding. The shards hold a lot of potential for innovation, which don't get investigated because they don't stand out in a one dimensional timeline. All this is couched within the context of PKM. Gathering information from different sources (including conversations) in order to improve our knowledge bank. Interacting with information is part of the process of acquiring knowledge. When done within a group it can be more rewarding. I am trying to figure out a way of facilitating conversations and make it play nice with Dendron.
