Oof On the other hand, I've seen that happen before due to power saving. My old laptop's speakers would crackle every time the something started playing, and disabling power saving solved the issue. Not sure how to do that on Windows, or if that's even the problem though.

I turned power saving off long ago, but I notice MS likes to decide that the way I choose to use "my" device isn't congruent with how it should be. I will check those settings again now...
Man, where even is that setting any more? It's all buried under stupid texts of how MS is committed to carbon footprint BS and blah. Look man, I just want to use my damn computer and not have to deal with all this other political BS you're injecting into my life.
I've clicked the "stop bugging me about this stuff" button dozens of times, utterly sick of it being in my face every time I open settings.
