    Me too, but GTA IV's story manages to be serious, dark and morbid at the same time. Mainly because in the game there is a serial killer Eddie Low (Secondary mission), also Niko a Yugoslovakian soldier, who fought in the civil war of Yugoslovakia and was betrayed by one of the members of his force and now comes to seek revenge in Liberty City, he was deceived by his cousin thinking he would have a perfect life in LC and he went there and only found misery, problems and his cousin getting involved with loan sharks

    That's why GTA IV is the most realistic GTA in the series, not only in handling and such, but in the story itself and in the game, Liberty city is a gray, dirty city full of criminals of the worst kind

    they did shut down a mod which was a conflict of interest (at least publicly) called GTA: Underground during the release of Definitive Edition
