Sure you might get the default gamemode to run but creating your own scripts requires an understanding of programming concepts and a certain familiarity with the internal workings of this game. The best advice I can give is: start with a simple mode and try out some functions in there to see how they work. Definitely don't start with humongous RP gamemodes that are oftentimes poorly scripted and outdated.
