IMO if your mesh is bad, don't waste time on anything but meshing. You didn't answer: why not use snappy or cfMesh?

Another thing, it's quite clear your epsilon gets bounded but that doesn't help, the solver explodes at solving epsilon equation anyway. If the mesh doesn't ruin your day, I'm quite sure y+ somewhere in your domain is well below 30. Again, use yPlus function object and check if that's true

Another another thing, your mesh is insanely coarse, you have 4 cells height-wise in your inlet. If you make a finer mesh, netgen will have less problems with bad cells and you'll have less problems with bad results...

And you have 1 cell height-wise in the bigger body o.0

I will try now. Since I simplified the mesh

To save time, you can retry with salome but make sure you have like 8-10 cells between any pair of walls

Simulation completes with refined mesh (greatly simplified geometry)

You could even do it in Salome to get hexa mesh also 😅

Even an structured mesh could be done, what do you think @kandelabr ? Maybe this afternoon I will have the time and had a look to it 😁

I don't think it's worth it but I do think snappy would be much better than those tetras

not a good mesh by any means (i set three elements per block) but it is doable, kandelabr would do a way better work for sure.. but at least i can confirm that it is possible to bloc cutt it. nevertheless as said by him, cfmesh or snappy would be way better options.

it is a simple geometry for snappy actually.... snappy is bad for geometries with a lot of edges and complex shit, this is quiet easy as geometry i mean

You'll have these weird prisms if you snap onto a curved surface and then bring in layers. I don't know what magic can get rid of those, and they are quick to get flagged by check mesh if I additionally want locally fine regions and such.

TL;DR: snap looks good but it makes prisms Nd then those get squished and distorted while layering. Not sure of workaround
