I’m exploring different vector databases and trying to figure advantages/disadvantages of each one. Now that Elasticsearch has its own knn features as well as Opensearch knn plugin, I’m more inclined to continue using ES unless there are clear advantages to using something else. Please generate bullet points comparing and contrasting various vector database solutions 😉 (yes, I say please when talking to chatgpt)!

welp, my natural inattention has helped me miss, apparently, that the 1:30 research meeting was rescheduled for 11am. The only thing left is to setup LunaBrain locally and I think we've met the day's deliverables with the same amount of everything and nothing, to head into the weekend after a whole week of being successfully unemployed and crazy 🙂

Honestly you are more of an expert than I am, at this point, and I'll go do some research on the KNN functionality that has been added to existing tools. From what I've seen through talking with a lot of startups: Just try out a solution and, if it's too slow, try something else. That more or less seems to be where the market is right now. Odds are that Weaviate is going to be the fastest, but do you really want to maintain another service? Nah. Just bolt it into what you already have until it breaks. 😉

I’m considering Weaviate, Vespa and Milvus. I’ll go through their features and see if I find anything that would make me switch from Elasticsearch
