I haven’t been able to reach them @Noah - messages blocked on Discord. Tried posting on one of their Twitter posts. Maybe I could tag them in Ergo Discord but I don’t think they’ve posted yet

Imo at the moment we are not operational with respect to SigCan application decisions. Hence, I want to propose to decide on a temporary solution. Since afaik there are basically 0 benefits for SigCans other than the SigCan group chat, we shouldn’t be too restrictive with accepting people. We probably also should decide to demote SigCans if they are inactive for months, but that’s a different discussion. So, I would like to propose the following:

It is too important to get rid of maybe, but we need to have minimum nomination requirements, where every X amount of time each Sigmanaut must nominate X number of SigCANs to Sigmanaut.

So now I believe this is what we're left with so far, please critique. # Sigmanauts ## Mission Statement Inspired by the [Ergo Manifesto](https://ergoplatform.org/en/blog/2021-04-26-the-ergo-manifesto/) - Sigmanauts carry forward the mission of building "society through horizontal cooperation through production under the division of labor, trade and exchange, and solidarity and mutual aid." - Sigmanauts work to ensure Ergo remains an ecosystem for regular people, by building and supporting freely-accessible avenues for community education, engagement, participation and leadership development. - Sigmanauts aim to not only spread awareness of Ergo, but to also ensure the project's stewardship will always remain with the people, in a decentralized and transparent manner. - As Sigmanauts we hold ourselves, and each other, to the highest of standards, as ambassadors of not only the Sigmanaut Program, but of Ergo as a whole.

Starting this to allow for Sigmanauts to volunteer in creating a working group to build the governance framework of the Sigmanaut Program. This group will be tasked with building out rules, structure, expectations, identifying areas for improvement in established processes, and other governance needs as has been discussed within the main group over the past several months. Final framework created by working group can be presented to Sigmanauts for efficient voting & implementation once completed. ✅ | I volunteer for Governance working group 💪 | I can't volunteer, but I support the group ❌ | I don't support this idea/Entire group should do it. If this gets any ❌ votes I will remove this post so that we can further discuss in main group.

  • Temporary SigCan Voting Rules
    k

    Klaus

    11/05/2022, 10:03 AM
    - Every SigCan vote must include the following three and only these three options: accept, reject and abstain. - 14 days voting duration - An applicant will be immediately accepted as a SigCan at the end of the voting period if 1.) there are 0 "reject" votes 2.) at least 10 Sigmanauts voted (including abstain votes) 3.) at least 5 Sigmanauts voted “accept”. - If condition 1.) is violated, but the number of “accept” votes is at least three times the number of “reject” votes (e.g., 9 accept, 3 reject, 0 abstain or 5 accept, 1 reject, 7 abstain) then the voting duration is extended for 7 days, everyone can change his/her vote and Sigmanauts should actively discuss their concerns during this period. This only happens once per application. - If one of these conditions ( 1.), 2.) and 3.) ) is not met (even after the extended voting duration), then the applicant will receive a message telling him/her that he didn’t make it and which of the three conditions were not satisfied. If condition 2.) or 3.) were not met, the candidate can instantly reapply by submitting the application form again. If condition 1.) was not met, the candidate can reapply again after 1 month to avoid spamming. - These rules are only valid for 6 months starting from the time when they come into effect. ✅ - accept ❌ - reject 👀 - abstain

This breakout group Includes myself, @Sisyphuspush , and @Jεnniε D. @Jεnniε D is under the weather and will not be around much. (We all hope you feel better soon!) I would love to encourage anyone else interested to join this discussion with no pressure or responsibility to see it resolved. The more eyes the better!

Hey @User ! Opening up a set of slides some of us in the EF have been working (and @Torto Delivery's awesome gfx support). Would appreciate some more eyes on it. Devs to check everything makes sense but equally people with no dev experience to ensure it's not too technical. Sigmanaut page needs some work if anyone wants to take that on. Would be good to get a graph which maps EF Spending (on p25) to $ value - and any other graphs or input would be greatly appreciated! We're at about our limit for pages, so we've added an appendix to cover all the ecosystem projects / infrastructure in more detail - The appendix slides still needs a lot of work so feel free to dig in. (Especially for those of you who are part of or running one of said projects!)) https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1fzD5TDKJUUtrG2DUyvaNqqv3vMsfBYhMW67rlJkyNFA/edit?usp=sharing

  • Sigmanauts and Sigmanauts Core (An Idea)
    c

    crandano

    12/08/2022, 8:21 PM
Something I'd like to bring up and get perspective on: How serious do we want to have Sigmanauts be? I'm seeing a few different scenarios and I'm hoping you provide other scenarios, thoughts, ideas, etc. Scenario 1: Sigmanauts is a broad group of community members. There isn't an expectation of contribution and/or it is quite a loose expectation. It's great that we have people that may be so deep in their own projects that - while they may not have time to contribute directly to Sigmanauts itself, the conversation, and/or meetings - it's still great for them to be able to see the conversations taking place, contribute to the conversations when they can, and we have the ability to tag them for their thoughts/ideas. Some people may just share on Twitter, post on Reddit occasionally, and are hardly active in the actual program - but we want to show the community that they are, indeed, a Sigmanaut (representing an outstanding community member in my opinion) Scenario 2: We could have Sigmanauts (see Scenario 1) and a Sigmanauts Core (for lack of better name). Sigmanauts Core would be members that reach a certain threshold to be decided upon, members that vote on initiatives/Treasury, attend meetings and/or contribute to conversation (again, threshold to be decided upon). Of course, there's pros and cons in this. I'm not looking to necessarily create a hierarchical system, but I think there's some of us that really want to turn this into a more serious program where there's Treasury funds and the ability to really drive Ergo forward. In my opinion, to have a legitimate Treasury that's allocating funds to drive the ecosystem, then we need people that are committed to a certain threshold of participation including voting. With a Sigmanauts group and some form of Sigmanauts Core, we could be looking at the best of both worlds. Not everyone has to be a Treasury member. Not everyone has to take it more serious. Not everyone has to be expected to vote. Thoughts?

Topics include, but not limited to: - Sigmanaut expectations - Quantifying activity (through activity points?) - Thresholds for promotion, demotion, voting - Procedures for promotion and demotion - Voting timelines - Active vs inactive (procedures to be inactive voluntarily) - Whether those that are inactive should be demoted or regrouped to accommodate availability Click 👍 if you would like to participate in this group .Will likely want to set up side meetings to discuss and help us create framework for larger group to go over. Looking to start work this week. In the meantime I will be gathering relevant discussions posted by Sigmanauts to give us something to work from.
