We created an automatic chat translation system, so all in-game (and Discord) chat is automatically translated into the chosen language of the player. To give a bit more insight into the issue, significant damage was done to its Database due to a corrupted transaction log, and as a result the past several months of transactions are now being rebuilt from a second database, which is a very labor-intensive and time-consuming process, as it requires the creation of several scripts and systems. Similarly, Antigua's database is massive to begin with, holding over a terabyte and a half of data, so the data processing and reconstruction process being done by the scripts is also relatively slow -- despite Antigua's Database Server having 32 CPUs and the database being stored on an all-SSD SAS-12 RAID-6 Array. __**Subscription Access not Granted on login screen**__ - seems there is a delay before subscriptions status kicks in - even if shown active on burningsea.com - If you had any game clients running/logged in this might block status being updated - close down game clients. - Start and login on a 2.17 server Create and/or login on a character on Roberts. This have triggered the activation of the subscription on Legacy for some (granted access).

We are currently operating it under license. That said, we are pretty much free to do whatever we can and whatever is necessary to help the game survive and prosper once again. We are currently about ~70% of the way towards resurrecting the content pipeline. For example, the system for generating and exporting meshes, textures, animations, etc. is now back in action. The system for creating new Missions is also functional once more. User-generated Flags & Sails have returned to all Servers, and the user-creation system for new items will soon be back in place as well. Also, the Translation issues that plagued the game due to a lack of source code to Sony's classic T4 tool has been largely alleviated (some work still remains to be finished in this area).

> The reason all of this has taken so long (and, really, it has been a long time) is that the game itself cannot support significant ongoing development. If you think back, everyone familiar with the game will probably recall that first FLS and then Portalus had to close their doors due to this core issue -- lack-of-revenue -- which hasn't changed. Fortunately, Vision has other revenue streams and so has been able to loan engineering support to the game [at a loss] and continue to advance the work that needs to be done. Things on that front are further complicated by the fact that the game itself is using Intrinsic Alchemy, a C++ engine that is no longer supported even by its own creators, Vicarious Visions. Whereas there are plenty of available persons out there skilled in Unity, Unreal, etc., finding people capable of working in Intrinsic Alchemy is extremely difficult. > > My classic catchphrase is "Population drives Development".
