Hi everyone, is there a way to find out if one's supabase instance supports .channel() already? I'm a bit confused over the state of the new realtime features (https://supabase.com/blog/2022/04/01/supabase-realtime-with-multiplayer-features). Are they available, or is the waitlist to get access to these features? Thanks!

Hi there is a whitelist, you simply need to enter your email at https://multiplayer.dev

I'm not sure what is this whitelist for, neither how use it, but i guess you will get more informations by email
You have some examples available on the GitHub of the project
i
Thanks @Olyno . I have already registered my email. But haven't received any information from email. Would you be able to point me to github examples as I could not find any..

I went through the repo, I could not find any example containing multiplayer features. Not sure if I am missing something here.
I was looking for examples containing code that implements the new realtime features. https://supabase.com/blog/2022/04/01/supabase-realtime-with-multiplayer-features
o
In the README > Quickstart section, you have an example with Next and another with Node
Also, sorry if you guys have no answers to questions you ask, even if it's pertinent. We're trying to make our best to answer everyone, but we have a lot of questions to deal, and we don't even know a lot of stuff sometimes (like realtime in this case). Simply don't hesitate to ping the support if you don't get any answer after a long period as cbert did
i
sure @Olyno. Thanks for the tip.
The examples that you have mentioned does not implement the new features. Maybe I will need to connect with the support. While it is not super critical for me as of now. I was curious about the timeline for launch as some of my use cases will benefit from this features
o
Oh wait you mean the multiplayer feature?
i
yep
presence, broadcast etc..
o
Yeah this is just a usage example of the realtime lib
I'm not sure where to find this part. I guess it should be available on the GitHub, but not sure whete
More news soon i suppose 😅
I will note this question for later and coming back to you when I have some news about it
i
😅 .. yep.. Whats the best way to connect with their support. Is it raising a github issue or any discord channel? I have yet to get their paid subscription. Hopefully planning to get that soon..
Thanks @Olyno for making the effort to answer this question. Appreciate your help
o
For paid plan you can directly contact them by email. You can also make a new GitHub discussion, they gonna see it whenever it's possible 😁
i
Thanks @Olyno.. Will probably send them a mail when I become their customer 😅
d
@ikigai @Olyno They haven't opened it up to the public yet - they're still developing it in closed source, as far as I know. You can sign up for the wait list here https://multiplayer.dev/
c
thanks for all the feedback! Will also try to get in touch with support to see when it is ready for public. I just don't want to build the collaboration features 3 times (First hasura to supabase > supbase old realtime > supabase new realtime 😄 )
