and i definitely screwed something up in the tutorial as "recipies.italian" does not branch off of the "recipies" node as "recipies.chinese" and "recipies.vegetarian" does in graph view ๐Ÿ˜ข

italian is just a stub though... that might be the problem

well, i restarted the tutorial with a clean vault and it is working this time... i'm paying more attention to when the lookup bar doesn't have "create new note" avaliable before hitting "enter" though.

okay, should root ever be edited as a "normal" note?

or should it contain links to it's children at most?

You can put whatever you want in your root note

Hi all, dropping my question here rather than opening a github issue as it may simply be user error. I am having difficulty launching the publish dev server from within vscode. When I launch the dev server via the "Dendron: Publish Dev" action, I first get prompted to select "Use default" or "Use config", I have tried both. After that I am prompted to "Skip" or "Don't skip" the build process. I assume that I should not skip the build process, however I have tried both. Regardless of the options I choose, I get the following error: "siteUrl is undefined. See https://dendron.so/notes/f2ed8639-a604-4a9d-b76c-41e205fb8713.html#siteurl for more details" I have the following set in my dendron.yml publishing: siteUrl: "https://test.com/" However, I am able to build and host the dev via the CLI $ npx dendron publish build $ npx dendron publish dev So it's just within vscode itself that I cannot build. Is there something else that I am missing?

I'm seeing that tags can have a heirarchy, so will tags.ttrpg.todo be a different tag than tags.webdev.todo ?

    Yes, you'll need to type
    #ttrpg.todo
    and
    #webdev.todo
, and they will be 2 separate notes

so i can start with just a general #todo and then split them off as needed.... THIS IS AMAZING

I'm assuming i can selectively publish/export just one part of a heirarchy?

Yes, you can configure it in
    siteHiearchies
    https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/f2ed8639-a604-4a9d-b76c-41e205fb8713.html#sitehierarchies

... so if i go to my note that is currently just called tags.TODO, and rename the note to tags.TODO.ttrpg, all TODO tags that currently exist will be automagically updated?

okay, transferring my notes is a bit of a headache, but the future potential i'm seeing is so worth it

if i make something like tags.todo.ttrpg.game1 and tags.todo.ttrpg.game2 would backlinks on the note for tags.todo.ttrpg show both game1 and game2 as backlinks?

but there's also like... floating nodes for everything i've created that don't link to the docs when clicked

the circled nodes are the ones properly connected to "root"

the floaters are those same titles duplicated, but don't open the proper note in the editor pane

    Slaytanical(LamentConfiguration)

actually, two of those notes were created (properly) from the lookup bar, and two were made using the extract feature from the lookup bar.

I ran into this issue while doing the "getting started" at one point, and the only fix i found was to start the whole thing fresh again.... and that would be quite painful.

It's probably a bug with the graph view. Do you see any duplicates when you do a lookup?

it doesn't seem like they're in the lookup
