Is the date/time format used in dendron.yml documented anywhere? I found the config file page (https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/f83c1d87-eac0-48f3-a5cf-8a69989d8ec1/), but nothing there about the dateformat. I found an old reply here that points to https://wiki.dendron.so/index.html#dendrondefaultjournaldateformat but the content seems to have changed since then.

If I`m correct in thinking you mean the Journal Dateformat then here should be the docs for it https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/3i4ABJutl7NGeXRHTnUEC/#dateformat

yes, thanks! was also looking for the time format, but there was a link to the complete docs from that page. I do find the wiki pages hard to browse for some reason. Most likely that many of the topics in the left sidebar are ambiguous or too broad to me

Is there a way in dendron to have published note code blocks have a copy button?

not atm as far as I know, but you could create a Feature request for it on git so it gets tracked

Regreftully it doesn't seem to work. I will debug further and probably add an issue again. I believe the error might be somewhere else, as I haven't altered the schema from the original one (other than adding a template file)

i’ve saw this tweet in Twitter channel. Does it mean that I can make reference to a specific line or header in jupyter notebook file? If possible pls also share the link to dendron wiki page, so i can read in details. Thanks https://discord.com/channels/717965437182410783/929218104536490004/947724245146935416

Hi I have a question about best practices. I write my journal no using Dendron. What is the best way to link people or topics together ? For example I would write in my journal: Today I talked to my Dad about the Ukraine. How can I link Dad and Ukraine so that I find this note when I look for one of this keywords ?

I'll make no claim about what's best practice here, but if you were to write
Today I talked to my [[dad]] about the [[ukraine]]
, because of automated backlinking, from that point on, if you look at dad.md or ukraine.md you'd be able to see the journal note listed as a backlink. If you wanted the same link text to point to different addresses, you could write something like
Today I talked to my [[dad|people.father]] about the [[ukraine|countries.ukraine]].

Sorry for missing your question! That's not supported right now to best of my knowledge. Please feel free to submit a feature request for it though.

Is there an updated publish guide? I had a really sweet setup before the 0.83 update. Now I'm kind of stuck with either starting from scratch or just abandoning it.

updated publishing guide is here -> https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/e5st4LFLtIwwbQmC6JBaF.html is there something specific that you're looking for? if you want to stick with legacy publishing, you can still do so by locking your dendron-cli to v82

I have it mostly working, but right now my issue is with my custom styles. They are all broken in the lastest builds. I had things styled like this before:

And now my build looks like this:

I can see my styles are still being added when I look at the source code, but they briefly flash before being overridden by these default styles. From what I can see in the source code it appears that a lot of the markup has changed, so my styles aren't targeting things properly. Does that sound right? Or am I missing something?

The site is hosted locally, so I can't really send a link. I could send the index.html file though if that helps

Do we have plans for latex preview and auto scrolling? By auto scrolling I mean the preview follows the cursor location, which is available in the built in preview in VSCODE

Can you share templates between vaults?
  • s

    SeriousBug

    03/02/2022, 2:46 AM
Yes, templates (and schemas) work across vaults. You can add them to one vault, and they will work for all your vaults.

And you can use cross-vault syntax to be specific on where a template is existing and being used from: https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/c5e5adde-5459-409b-b34d-a0d75cbb1052/#cross-vault-template-syntax

I have toDos like this in my Notes. Best idea I have to collect them is go through each file and collect them with regex
    Copy code
    #### Object Cache
    - [ ] taken from SharePoint 2013. Check Relevance for other versions
    - Total Number of Cache Compactions
ideally 0. 6 or more per hour means Object Cache is under stress. Allocate more memory

My firm is keen to use confluence for project material - any thoughts on 'connecting' dendron to confluence - I would need integration both ways?
  • f

Question would be, do you just want to add the information from Confluence to your Dendron vaults? Or do you want to be able to change information and then Push them to confluence as well?

Question: In Dendron are words 'Schema' and 'Template' referring to the same thing?
